Spoken like a man who shares his squat in an abandoned Upminster lock-up with the finest tramps Essex has to offer.

The only reason joyo doesn't drink is because his squat-mates can smell an open can of tramp juice from 4 miles away and every time joyo cracks a tube they're onto him like a rash whooshing it away.

Re: How much do you drink?
Not much at all, enough that it's not worth stopping completely as I like a beer now and then but I could go 6 days or 6 months between having a beer.

As I run allot, I like to be fresh and hangover free so if I go out I can have a few alco-free lagers (which these days are pretty decent) and still feel good in the morning.

I know people think it's boring but fuck em, I much prefer my life with a small, easily manageable amount of alcohol to having to rely on alcohol for a good time.

Re: How much do you drink?
I have a couple of beers every night, when i say a couple thats what i mean, 2 x 375ml bottles, and i don't drink the low alcohol/low carb shit either, proper full-strength beer otherwise what's the point.

Helps me wind down and i enjoy it, maybe it's too much for the medical professions guild lines but follow those and your left with pretty miserable existence when you throw in all the so called "bad foods" to avoid and i pretty much eat whatever i want, don't avoid any foods etc

Balance it all with running, up early most mornings and out the door for a 5k run. do that in about 25 mins, so decent pace, if i push it and a Park run im around the 20 min mark, my weight stays pretty constant so for my thinking drinking is offset by the running.

You know it makes sense!!!!

Re: How much do you drink?
My nephew (20) has been hammering the booze for about a year now.
Goes to the pub after work or out with mates nearly every night often coming home pissed with more cans.
During the course of Xmas day I counted up 21 cans of cider and lager he downed without even appearing pissed
His dad is a heavy drinker / alcoholic and my sister fears he is going the same way and gets on his case.
I've also had strong words with him about the effects it will eventually have and he seemed to take it board for a while but he just seems to love a beer.
One thing that did pleasantly surprise us was that during a recent holiday to the states where he was to young to drink he didn't seem to be too bothered or show any signs of withdrawal symptoms but just spunked his dough on other stuff.
When he came back he went back on it although not as heavily.

Re: How much do you drink?
Why keep count?....I love a booze with mates but never really drink at home as my Mrs don't drink due to her mum who was a Weegie was a massive piss head.

I probably get a bit pissed twice a week but not bothered if drink at all for a week or two.

When you get to my age,60 ,it does not really matter, just enjoy it and fuck the unit BS right off.

Far too much, all through my life. Only 4% lager though. Hardly ever drink shorts or wine.

Re: How much do you drink?
Almost nothing now. I drive to the pubs, so I’m ‘lime & soda’ bloke.
An occasional single malt at home, but it’s quite rare nowadays.
When I did drink, it was ‘real ale’ bitter, or IPA.

Tangle - Carry on enjoying life son, as you say it's all under control. Ignore the do-gooders who live like choir boys, looking down their noses, just so they can still be around in their 90's pissing and shitting in their own pants.

Re: How much do you drink?
If indoors I rarely drink, unless I've been out partying the night before.. Then I may knock a fair bit back, beer, vodka or brandy just straight.

When out I'm normally not drinking but doing other stuff..

I'm away at the moment and haven't drunk that much two nights I have but the rest just 3 beers.

Re: How much do you drink?
Just remember, Yogib died after giving up drinking, that’s what killed him.

Like most it seems, I don’t drink at home but 4/5 pints of 5% and a couple glasses of red if I go out.

Tend to go out 3/4 times a week. When I’m at work then a couple tins a day.

Re: How much do you drink?
I think I probably drink too much. Nearly all social drinking, I don't like being in a drinking environment, pub, party or whatever and not drinking. I notice I nearly always drink more than the people I am with. First beer always disappears alarmingly fast. I absolutely hate small beers, really crap idea and seem to be getting more common. I hate that it makes me feel bad the next day and now only really drink / socialise at the weekend. I have a few childhood friends that when we meet up we drink stupid amounts and I certainty don't drink more than some of them, but its just 1 or 2 times a year and I love doing that with them. Main time I drink with no socialising is watching West Ham on my own on the TV, from younger days the 2 went together for me and I kind of like to keep doing that. With this life style my health seems ok. I have digestive problems, but just been diagnosised as a gluten thing, so just need to drink gluten free beer (there is a good one here in Spain) and cider, also no bread and cakes, bit a pain but thats ok. On the whole it's a pain getting old, but very good to be alive healthy and doing more or less what you want.

Re: How much do you drink?
I never drink at home, where the wife does most nights. My issue is when I do drink, I drink heavily.

I Had a mate up for the Forest game and the night before I was knocking back Guinness like it was out of fashion. And a recent trip to Ireland/Northern Ireland, I put away something ridiculous like 14 pints one night and not spread over a day, but a few hours.

Re: How much do you drink?
I do drink little and regularly. A bottle of wine between me and the missus and we do have a thing for single malt whiskey so the occasional tipple of that too. The only time I might drink heavily is at Xmas but that's about it.

cholo 10:51 Wed Feb 28

A bottle of wine on the weekend that is, not every day.

Not directly but risk of death from a heart attack or stroke rises with severity of alcohol use disorder and poorly-managed withdrawal
